SEAMLESS INTEGRATION: Integration with VMS via API or MAXIBUS
Overview
G-FENCE is an accelerometer-based (sensor logic) intrusion detection system for outdoor fences that offers multiple simultaneous alarm detection modes. Alarm information is reported back one of (3) ways: dry contacts, from RJ485 output to PROTECH’s MAXIBUS Universal hub or from the Modbus / API output.
Modbus / API output enables alarm information to be transmitted over your IP network for direct integration with VMS.
During an intrusion, vibrations (climbing, cutting or lifting) of the fence are sensed by the pre-installed accelerometer sensors. These sensors transmit intrusion information to the Maxibus hub, which analyzes the information and generates an alarm based on thresholds being reached.
The G-FENCE 2400 control unit can be remotely operated from inside a building with a 12 VDC power source. The system is designed to facilitate up to 200 m of passive cable between the control unit and the sensors. An integrated web server simplifies maintenance of the G-FENCE 2400 including remote setting of sensitivity and number of impacts. Time-stamped log histories (with location of the intrusion) are provided via an Ethernet connection.
To facilitate installation, the G-FENCE 2400 control unit can be remotely operated from inside the building where a 12 VDC power source is available. Because the system is designed to tolerate up to 200 m of inert cable between the control unit and the sensors. In addition, an integrated web server simplifies the maintenance of the G-FENCE 2400. The maintenance and remote setting of the sensitivity and the number of effects as well as a time-stamped history (with the location of the intrusion) are directly via an Ethernet connection.

It is important to install cable in the middle of the fence panel with the supplied cable ties and to affix sensors by tightening cable ties on the fence fabric.
To optimize the sensor’s detection, the sensor must be placed in the middle of the fence panel.
Entrances and gates: use at least a 0.6mm² standard cross-section cable with a maximum length of 200 m per entrance or gate.
To secure a fence to detect intrusion attempts, a passive detector cable is installed on the fence. Upon an intrusion, (accelerometer-based technology) sensors will detect vibrations on the fence (caused by cutting, climbing or lifting) and will send information to the Control Unit (s), which analyzes the information before triggering an alarm, or not.
The cable comes pre-assembled with sensors (40 sensors per roll of 100 m cable) helping to reduce installation costs.
